When you deconstruct any commercial or residential building and prioritize each aspect, windows are at the top of the list. They are critical to not only the visual appeal of all types of structures, but they serve vital functions as well. They provide ventilation and light.
And naturally, the more important a structure’s aspect is, the more important it is to maintain, and clean it. And usually, cleaning and maintaining various aspects of home and buildings is challenging, tedious, difficult. This is certainly the case with raised windows on commercial buildings. So, in short, it’s something best left to professionals.
The operative word is professional. Many service providers can claim to be window cleaners. But, are they professional? Do they understand all that goes into being a professional window cleaner? Or, do they think that if they get some of the dirt off your windows they’ve fully delivered on their commitment?
The following are the most evident differences and distinctions between professional window cleaners and all others claiming to be so. Each of these will be obvious to you if you reflect on your most recent commercial window cleaning experience.
Did they show up for the job well-groomed, with a pleasant demeanor, clearly showing they were committed to doing a first-rate job? Were they respectful of your needs and concerns and time? Where they courteous? Did you feel they were trustworthy?
Did they have the right equipment and tools? Did they use effective, environmentally friendly products that aren’t known for causing damage to windows or sills?
Did they show they were adept at identifying small problems or potential large problems like rotting wood, holes in the screens or even drainage channels being clogged? A professional will spotlight these issues and at the very least communicate them to you before they become even larger problems.
What was the quality of their work? Did they go above and beyond or just do the bare minimum amount of cleaning.? The depth of their quality pertains to the glass, of course. But quality also means the window sills and frames. Did they wipe them off? What about the tracks in the glass doors? Were those vacuumed?
If they removed all screens, did they put them back or leave that for someone else to do? Did they put all the furniture back to where it belonged? In other words, everything should be left the way it was found. With the exception of the windows – they should be sparkling!
Furthermore, quality above and beyond includes getting rid of all water spots, dust, and debris on the floor as well. If there were any footprints left behind, you didn’t get the best quality job.
Of no less importance is if they showed up on time and stayed within their quotes. Arriving late, especially at an inconvenient time that interferes with your daily schedule like meetings, etc. is unacceptable. Did they stay within their schedule? Or, did they rush through the job to make up for the time they lost by being late?
